ALL RESERVATIONS FOR THIS EVENT ARE NOW TAKEN!
Common Grounds Collective would like to invite you all to yet another spectacular evening of art and expression in the intimacy of a living room packed full of artists, poets, musicians and friendly folk. This is the ninth edition of this beloved series and will be the last Home is Where the Art is before the New Year greets us.
On the night we have the pleasure of having presentations from:
Lia Wright - Lia is a visual artist based in Dublin. Her work spans a broad range of mediums, from illustration to painting and street art. Lias paintings make clever use of colour, shifting natural scenes to the ethereal with vibrancy and sharp contrasting lines. We were incredibly lucky to have Lia paint live for us at Open Canvas where her painting was auctioned off at the end of the night, with all proceeds going to Art Refuge UK and we simply can't wait to hear more from one of the most exceptionally talented artists on the scene right now.
Dan Whelan - Dan will be supplying our musical focus to the night. Having played all across the country in groups like "Na Tonnta", Daniel has developed a unique approach to Irish traditional music and offers a lively and fresh perspective on the blending of old and new. Dan will be treating us to some of his original blues influenced compositions and songs combined with his classical guitar techniques.
Fionn Brennan - Fionn will be guiding us through the world of coffee, from sourcing beans, to roasting them and making coffee in the home enviornment. The word "experienced" does him little justice, as Fionn is nothing short of a coffee guru. Having opened up "Brewery Coffee" in 2015, Fionn, along with Jack Corrigan and others has been supplying Maynooth with speciality coffee that never falls short of perfection. We are absolutely thrilled to have Fionn presenting at this event as he and the Brewery have done so much to help Common Grounds from the early days right up to the present. Expect plenty of laughs, and even more know how to be dished out.
